EPC 153-22
EPC 153-22 is the European Payments Council guidance document "Provision of Addresses under the EPC Payment Schemes". Now at v2.1 (October 2025), it defines when payer and payee addresses are required in SEPA payments, codifies the structured and hybrid formats, and records the cutover alignment to 15 November 2026.
How EPC 153-22 works in practice
The document is guidance that operationalises the scheme rulebooks: it explains the non-EEA condition for payer addresses, states that only the structured Town and Country fields are needed for regulatory screening, and documents the amendment of the originally announced cutover date to the SR 2026 weekend (15 November 2026).
