CBPR+
CBPR+ (Cross-Border Payments and Reporting Plus) is the SWIFT usage guideline that defines how ISO 20022 messages are populated for cross-border payments on the SWIFT network. It evolves through annual November Standards Releases; SR 2026 (15 November 2026) removes the fully unstructured postal address from the accepted profile for newly initiated payments.
How CBPR+ works in practice
CBPR+ has been "Aligned" since November 2025: fully structured and hybrid formats are enabled and validation enforces the CPMI harmonisation requirements — technical annex hybrid profile across pacs.008, pacs.009, pacs.004 and camt messages. Rejection of non-compliant addresses happens at the point of entry into the network.
