pacs.008

Glossary entry · Last reviewed 26 July 2026

pacs.008 (FIToFICustomerCreditTransfer) is the ISO 20022 message that carries a customer credit transfer between financial institutions — the MX successor to the MT 103. The current CBPR+ production version is pacs.008.001.08, and from 15 November 2026 its <PstlAdr> blocks must be fully structured or hybrid.

How pacs.008 works in practice

pacs.008 carries <PstlAdr> for the Debtor, Creditor and any Ultimate parties; agents are identified by BICFI rather than address. It is the inter-PSP payment message for SEPA SCT, SCT Inst and OCT Inst, and its R-transactions (pacs.004, camt.056, camt.029 and others) reference its original party data.
