MT 103 to MX address mapping
MT-to-MX address mapping is the rule set for converting party addresses between the legacy SWIFT MT format and ISO 20022. End-party addresses (Debtor, Creditor) map to MT fields using Option F; agent addresses use Option D. In MT 101 ingestion, the structured Option F sub-fields (50F, 59F) must carry Town Name and Country — free-text Option K is not acceptable as the sole carrier.
How MT 103 to MX address mapping works in practice
Mapping Scheme 1 governs the MX→MT direction with sub-field rules for Option F. Post-cutover, a bank cannot reliably derive <TwnNm> and <Ctry> from Option K free text, so the resulting ISO 20022 message fails point-of-entry validation — corporates still on Option K should migrate to Option F before 15 November 2026.
